Black and Bleu Camp Steaks

Make your campsite the culinary capital of the great outdoors with this easy-to-prepare dinner. Everything is cooked over the campfire for fast preparation and minimal clean-up.

Ingredients

  • Steaks

    • 4 Snake River Farms Black End-cut New York Strips Buy Now +
    • ½ teaspoon basil, dried
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ½ teaspoon onion powder
    • ½ teaspoon oregano, dried
    • 1 teaspoon coarse black pepper
    • ½ teaspoon cayenne
    • ½ teaspoon paprika
    • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
    • 8 oz bleu cheese crumbles
  • Green Beans

    • ½ lb fresh green beans
    • 3 garlic cloves, thin sliced
    • 1 teaspoon olive oil
    • salt and pepper
  • Sweet Potatoes

    • 3 large sweet potatoes, peeled
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • ½ tsp paprika
    • ½ tsp onion powder
    • salt and pepper

Directions

Steaks

  • Light coals according to instructions on the bag and allow time for them to get white hot.

    Mix all seasoning ingredients in a bowl and liberally season steaks.

  • Put steaks on the grill and grill 7 minutes per side for medium rare. After flipping the first time, top each steak with desired amount of bleu cheese.

    (Note: This can be done in tandem with cooking the side dishes associated with this recipe)

  • Pull from the grill after the second side has cooked and let rest.

Green Beans

  • Toss green bean ingredients together and set aside.

  • Slice sweet potatoes in long wedges and toss in oil and seasoning.
